Adam Smith-Connor is Clinical Director and physiotherapist at New Forest Physiotherapy Southampton. Training at Birmingham University, he qualified in 1994. His first job was in Sheffield at the Northern General Hospital (NGH), where he developed an interest in sports injuries whilst working for the NGH Sports Injuries Clinic. During his time in Sheffield, Adam worked at the World Masters swimming competition, Ponds Forge. He has also worked for the Armed Forces, NHS and Private Health sector.

Prior to setting up New Forest Physiotherapy Southampton Adam worked at BUPA Southampton Hospital where he built a close working relationship with local Orthopaedic and Neuro Surgeons. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Science from Southampton University, which included modules on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Extended Scope Practice in Spinal Pain, and Principles of Rehabilitation. Research proposals by Adam include Exercise Performance at High Altitude and Joint Position Sense following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (contact the clinic if you would like further information).

Adam is a member of the Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and he is also registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.

His hobbies include walking the dog, entertaining his young son and daughter, he is a Christian and supporter of pro life charities. Adam served for 20 years in the British Army Reserve where he did many parachute jumps as part of airborn forces.  He has also completed two marathons.
